Blount Law Firm PLLC July 20, 2018

You picked up a bad habit. You are constantly rushing out of the house and transferring that energy to your car. You do not want to be late but if you keep up this habit, you are exposing yourself to getting a speeding ticket. Who wants to deal with the inconvenience and fines that come along with a traffic violation?

You can avoid this whole situation by changing up your morning routine. Doing this may save you the stress of worrying about when your morning speeding will catch up with you.

Set Your Alarm 30 Minutes Earlier

Of course, you do not want to lose your sleep time. You are probably thinking to yourself, “I don’t need an extra 30 minutes.” But maybe you do.

Waking up 30 minutes earlier provides you with extra time, in case something happens. Maybe you watch the news and find out there is traffic congestion on your route to work. The extra time may also reduce your morning rush, so you can comfortably prepare for the day. In addition, constantly rushing in the morning may lead you to forget materials needed for the day. An extra 30 minutes may save you a lot of stress. If you do not want to lose your rest time, then you can always go to bed 30 minutes earlier the night before.

Prep the Night Before

There may be things you need to bring to work. Before going to bed the night before, be sure you are prepared to leave your home with everything you need. For example, pack your lunch and lay your clothes out. This preparation may reduce some of your morning tasks.

Get to Work Early

Maybe the reason you run late most days is that you plan your morning for being “on time.” In order to be “on time” would mean everything in the morning has to be perfect. You do not want to be that employee who is chronically late. A solution is to aim to arrive at work early. Following the tips above can help make this more feasible.

If there is a situation where there is traffic congestion, you are covered. Maybe your pet ran out the door on your way to your car. You have extra time to deal with that scenario. You are providing yourself extra time to deal with situations that occur in everyday life. It is not a perfect world so you may not want to plan a routine for a perfect world.

Implement these strategies today before you have to learn your lesson the hard way. Getting pulled over may cause you to be late to work on top of having to face a traffic violation for speeding.
